Until his eighteenth birthday, Raymond lived in Pittsburg, California where he was educated at PHS before returning to the city of his birth, Decatur, Alabama. Upon finishing school, he spent time in the United States Air Force where his last assignment was in Thailand. After leaving the service, he married and settled down in Birmingham, Alabama where he played music on the nightclub circuit for many years.
Returning to Decatur, he attended nearby Athens State University earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology where he was admitted to Psi Chi, the National Honor Society for Psychology. He attended Graduate School at the University of North Alabama in Florence.
He still lives in Alabama near his daughter and three grandchildren. He enjoys cooking Italian, and eating Mexican. He now writes full-time and although his first love is writing humor, he enjoys the studying and researching required for his work of Historical Fiction which he sees as challenging him to learn the cultures he writes about.
His goal is “To someday write something that matters.”
